Pastor’s Word 8/20/2026

The past couple of weeks here in the NWI (Northwest Indiana) area many families are still in recovery from the tornado weather that caused many families to be in crisis. Many areas are STILL without power as we speak. We are talking about homes, businesses, schools and churches without power. It has created viewpoints that could change how they view themselves. We must remain prayerful for swift resolution but these storms have opened up a conversation that is normally reserved for areas of the country that gets this weather all the time.  My question is this: If we’ve come so far technologically, why do we still have to have power lines above ground and not stored underneath protected from water?! Why do we not have enough technicians in the workforce than we have now? THESE are the questions that I have as I see friends and families struggling without power, hope and prayer.

We need to start working on bettering our own communities ourselves if we want instant results. We can’t keep relying on others to fix our messes and we can’t continue feeding the worst stereotype out there about us as a people. I’ve read posts and have heard valid frustrations but as Bruce Lee once said, “I need emotional content-NOT ANGER!” Let’s do better as we get better. You’re in my prayers.

This weekend’s Saturday Inspiration is postponed until next week due to a schedule conflict but Sunday’s message “The Good Shepherd” will be available at our new time 3:30 PM CST.
