Pastor’s Word 5/6/2026

This is a trying time for many people out here with job loss, unemployment woes, financial insecurity, foreclosure, inflation and other circumstances that can be challenging to your mental health.
I’m writing this to let anyone who may be faced with these challenges to know that taking your life is NOT the solution. You’ll be leaving those you left behind with questions that none of us can ever answer. Yes, these challenges are bigger than life for you and you may need to talk to someone about these very things. Sometimes your friends aren’t enough but if they are a true friend, they’ll at least listen to you if you open up. The same goes for any family that you may have. We feel that everyone is going through enough that opening up to them would be too much but it would be just what they need to focus on something other than their own mess.
If you prefer to speak to someone who might be better equipped to listen to you, contact 988 (if you’re in the US) and someone WILL talk to you IF you decide to open up to the counselor. It may be a scary time for you to do so but remember that you are loved, valued and important-regardless of what you are going through. As this one song goes, “You Can Make It.”
